Hairkraft Studio
Welcome to our new Home, Hairkraft Studio. We found a diamond in the rough on the East side of Van, Main & 8th to be exact. At first sight we fell in love with the space and after months of emails, talks and way too much paper work we finally got this salon to ourselves. We had one week to turn this salon 7yr old salon into a place we could call home. May 8th we finally opened our doors to clients, there is still more work we would like to do but we are ready to welcome in all our old and new clients. We are loving the community feel so far and feel beyond welcomed into our new Studio, so please come by, say hello and hope to see you in our chairs soon!

Sabrina & Simona
Sabrina
Born in Vancouver, my family moved to the island for a quieter life when I was a year old. Back to the city in 2007 to pursue my career as a hairstylist.
Training from Utopia Academy, followed by an apprenticeship at Rain Hair Salon, I quickly fell in love with the kraft. I have been lucky enough to study in New York, LA and not to mention under some pretty amazing stylists right here in Vancouver. Last year I was given the opportunity to work alongside the Bumble and Bumble backstage team at New York Fashion Week, one of the highlights in my career so far. Always ready to challenge myself, when this space became available I knew it was time to try salon owner.
If you had to quit doing hair tomorrow what else would you be doing?
I’ve never thought about that cause doing hair is the only thing I see myself doing!!
Whats the one thing that people dont know about you or would be suprised to know about you?
That deep down I’m super shy
Fav part of the job?
it’s cheesy but I love to see my clients smile, it reaffirms that this is what I should be doing. Told you it was cheesy
If you could offer one piece of hair advice what would that be?
embrace what you have, and feel confident in your look, that is what will turn heads….oh and a cut and color to enhance your hair doesn’t hurt either!
What inspires you:
I get inspired in the everyday, at work, people watching anywhere, taking a class, I can find it anywhere
Whats one hair trend you wish never made it mainstream:
I’m a little embarrased to say cause I too was victim of it, but the very, very dark (almost black) on the bottom and the very light through the top. Glad those days are over
Guilty Pleasure:
that’s tough i have a few….I guess it would be watching the real housewives
Fave Food:
hands down….ice cream any flavour

Simona
Who are you?
I consider myself a bit of a gypsy, born in Czechoslovakia, moved with the fam to BC living all over the place and finally settling in VANCITY! I have always loved playing around with hair, but never thought of doing it as a profession. To make a living playing with hair and talking to people all day? Sign me up!
How & where did you learn your skills?
It started 7 yrs ago when I went to school at Marco’s School of Hairdressing, a tiny little place run by an amazing Italian old school hairdresser. Once I graduated I did an apprenticeship at Rain Hair Salon for 6 months and went on to become the Bb Network Educator at the salon; this allowed me the opportunity to go to NYC a couple times to take courses and I try take classes locally to keep myself inspired.
If you were on a deserted island and could only bring one product what would it be?
Moisturizer
Whats the one thing you couldn’t live without ?
Chocolate
Favorite Things?
Traveling, animals & chocolate!
Favorite part of the job?
My clients!! You get to hang out with some pretty rad people and I’m always learning new stuff. From a selfish point of view its pretty amazing to have the ability to make someone feel so good about themselves after spending an hour or two with them. I love it!
What’s your most hated hair trend?
Well I dont know if its a trend but BAD extensions… drive me CRAZY!
Give us a little hair advice?
Don’t be afraid of product and embrace your natural texture!

Meagan
~ fun loving free spirited always up for adventure
~ get such a kick out of dressing the way I want…. I have a passion for putting clothes together and creating interesting looks by blending different ares and accessories
~ Making people feel great by changing or freshening up their hair feels like an extension of who I am
~ Love my dog!!!
Where have you trained:
After ten years in the industry, I have taken many classes with talented stylist here in vancouver as well as training with Bumble and Bumble in New york.
Why do you love your job:
~ I get to hang with really great people learn from them everyday, get creative and send them on their way feeling fantastic and ready to take on the world….what’s not to love? And those times when we can really truly effect someones self confidence, there are no words for that.
Craziest hair you’ve ever had:
~ Well… I shaved my head! I’ve always wanted to do it.
Most people ask why!? My answer: for the experience! I think everyone should get out of their hair comfort zone at least once in their life. And for me it’s up there on the list of amazing experiences. In the spring of 2012 I was getting pretty done with my big curly mane and was also in need of a cleanse of my life. So I decided to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis in turn for shaving my head. I set the wheels in motion by putting it out there to the Facebook world and there was no turning back. Three weeks later I had $2500 to hand in, no hair on my head and a large tick on the old bucket list:)
If you weren’t doing hair and money was no object, how would you spend your days:
~ I think I would become an eternal student of many things and travel as much as I could!
